El Cid Mini Shield Sword Display

This El Cid Mini Shield is crafted in wood and features a stylized coat of arms that most closely relates to the famous El Cid, known more completely as El Cid Campeador, or by his birth name, Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar. El Cid was made famous as the central figure in the oldest extant Spanish epic poem known today. This impressive little shield features a quartered field of red and white. On the field quarters sits a salient lion (or a heraldic lion in the leaping position), while the red field holds a castle with three towers.

The shield measures approximately 11.25 inches tall and weighs in at about 12 ounces. Includes hardware to hang shield on the wall, and hardware for displaying a sword. (Sword sold separately). The sword attaches to the shield in back.
